FROM SIMULTANEOUS PRECIPITATION TO TWO-POINT PRECIPITATION

Alltech supports the optimisation of phosphate precipitation at the Mulfingen (Germany) wastewater treatment plant

Alltech supplied a complete phosphate elimination system for the Mulfingen (Germany) wastewater treatment plant back in 2014. At that time, a 25 m³ chemical storage tank made of PE (polyethylene) with access ladder and all safety-relevant equipment features was delivered and installed. The dosing of the precipitant into the biology outlet is carried out – even today – by two piston diaphragm dosing pumps from the FKM series, which are installed in a chemical-resistant PE protective cabinet for outdoor installation. Piston diaphragm dosing pumps from the FKM series are characterised by high dosing accuracy. They are robust and reliable.

As part of the upgrade of the phosphate precipitation system at the Mulfingen sewage treatment plant from simultaneous precipitation to two-point precipitation, Alltech has now supplied and commissioned two new dosing pumps from the FKMAN series and a PROCON dosing output control system.

Two-point precipitation enables more precise dosing of the precipitant at two different points in the wastewater treatment process, which allows better adaptation to the varying phosphate concentrations in the wastewater. As a result, more effective phosphate removal can be achieved. The second dosing point is in the biology inlet.

The innovative two-point precipitation also makes wastewater treatment in Mulfingen more efficient and environmentally friendly. The consumption of chemicals is reduced. This reduces costs and protects the environment.

With this upgrade, together with our customer, we are making another important contribution to protecting our environment!
